Something loose or stretchy, that allows you freedom to move. Yoga is usually done in bare feet, but please bring socks for relaxation at the end of the class.
Please bring along a yoga mat and warm clothing as a minimum. If you also have a yoga block and straps please bring these with you, we do supply some for class, but cannot carry enough for everyone in class.
Yoga is non competitive so don’t worry about being new to the class. We are a welcoming class with a good mixture of ages and abilities.
Classes start with a short quiet time, pranayama (yoga breathing practice). A warm up session, using yoga movements to prepare the body for the asana (yoga postures). Counter postures, and ending with relaxation. Modifications and adjustments are offered.
If you have a health condition you should seek medical advice from your GP before coming to the class. In most cases you can still come along and practise safely. Some postures may not be suitable and an alternative will be offered or you may be advised to use a prop or modification to ensure it is safe for your individual body.
No yoga is not just for women; both men and women are welcome to my classes.
